On Benton Crossing Road, just off Highway 395 and beyond the ball fields, the Town/County-operated Whitmore Recreation Area features a six-lane, 25-meter, spring-fed outdoor pool with dramatic views of the surrounding valley and three different mountain ranges. Facilities include a children's wading pool, restrooms, hot showers, a shaded lawn area and vending machines. Lifeguards are Red Cross certified. The pool is open to the public during specified hours for classes and lap and recreational swimming. A small fee is required; visit the Local Recreation Resources page for more information.
