The southernmost and newest of the four main base areas for access to Mammoth Mountain Ski, Eagle Lodge--open only during the winter--features parking, ticket sales, equipment rentals, dining facilities, a variety of lodging options and direct access, by way of the paved Town Loop, to the edge of the Valentine Reserve, Old Mammoth, and the Sierra Star Golf Course. Campsites and housekeeping cabins are available to the public by reservation at the adjacent Camp High Sierra, owned by the City of Los Angeles.

- AVALANCHE FORECAST: Over the past five days, two storms brought periods of heavy snowfall, strong winds, and dangerous avalanche conditions to the region. As the weather settles, avalanches breaking in new and wind-drifted snow will become less likely. Be prepared to assess the recent snow for signs of instability, like cracking underfoot, before venturing into avalanche terrain. We have very limited information about the snowpack at mid and upper elevations.
