Pine City Campground

  • Named for one of Mammoth's original 19th-century mining camps, this small and very popular campground is set in the lodgepole pine forest along the eastern shore of Lake Mary at 8,900 feet. There are just 10 sites, each with a picnic table, a fire ring, a bear box and good views of the lake and the peaks of the Mammoth Crest beyond. Each is ideally situated as a base camp for exploration throughout the Lakes Basin. For information on camping at Pine City Campground, visit the Inyo National Forest web page.
