Named for one of Mammoth's original 19th-century mining camps, this small and very popular campground is set in the lodgepole pine forest along the eastern shore of Lake Mary at 8,900 feet of elevation. There are just ten sites, each ideally situated as a base camp for exploration throughout the Lakes Basin, each with picnic table, fire ring with grill, bear box, and good views of the lake and the Mammoth Crest beyond. Enjoy the shade and the cool breezes off the lake. Amenities include full restrooms and garbage collection. All 10 campsites are available on a first-come first-served basis.
