The Dike Wall, accessed by a well-worn hikers trail around the backside of Lake George, offers some of the best, easy-access, single-pitch sport climbing routes in the region. The rock is high-quality, Yosemite-style granite, with a full range of routes in a spectacular setting beneath Crystal Crag. Almost all of the hardware is contemporary. Given the variety of aspects, one can climb in the sun in the cool of the morning and move into the shade in the afternoon. And amazingly it's typically not very crowded. For detailed route information consult any of a number of excellent local guidebooks.
