Minaret Vista, just up from the summit of Hwy 203, presents a defining skyline of the Eastern Sierra and one of the most iconic mountain vistas in the American West. This is a great place to get dramatic long-lens, first-light or sunset shots of the Minarets and the Ritter Range. Interpretive signs and viewing tubes help identify and contextualize aspects of this vast wilderness landscape. A short walk along the Minaret Vista Loop gives access to shots up along San Joaquin Ridge or across the Long Valley Caldera to the Glass and White Mountains, or to Mammoth Mountain.
