This 1.25 mile out-and-back walk follows a peaceful section of the paved Town Loop Path, offering good views at the top of the hill. From the end of Sherwin Street in Old Mammoth cross the bridge over Mammoth Creek, turn left and make your way up the switchbacks to Eagle Lodge. At the turn of the first switchback, note the fencing to the west. This marks the boundary of the unique Valentine Reserve, an ecological field research station of the University of California. Enjoy moderate grades as you continue up to Eagle Lodge. Enjoy the views of Mammoth Mountain and Mammoth Rock on your way back down!
