Mammoth Creek Park West is a great spot to begin any outdoor adventure. There’s plenty of parking, water, bathrooms, and soft patches of grass for pre-exercise stretching. Head east on the Town Loop path through the tunnel under Old Mammoth Road, and continue down along Mammoth Creek. You’ll likely see fishermen trying their luck with rods and bait. For an historical detour, take the bridge over to Hayden Cabin and explore aspects of Mammoth's early history. The Town Loop continues onto an open plateau of sagebrush and manzanita to the benches at Sherwin Vista for restful views of the White Mountains and the Sherwins.
