Including Highway 395, this loop combines some pavement with graded gravel roads and jeep tracks for a great introduction to dual sport riding out in the Long Valley Caldera. Starting at the bottom end of Hwy 203, just east of Hwy 395, turn left (north) at Little Antelope Valley Road 3S05. Past the geothermal plant the road bends to the east, away from 395, turns to gravel, and climbs a hill. The road winds up and then down through Jeffrey pine forest and sagebrush meadows with open views of the Glass Range and back across to the Sierra. As the road joins route A4, head southwest past the Hot Creek Geologic Site back to Hwy 395. Motor Vehicle Use Maps and other information are available at the Welcome Center or at the Inyo National Forest website. Keep OHV experiences alive on public lands - stay on designated roads and trails at all times.
